Feathers

Feathers you have worn
and have danced around your feet
showing you footsteps you might take
and songs to be heard.

They lift your tender wings
—that are feathered also--
so that you may see
what they look like
once opened in their full expanse.

There are golden feathers too,
that are a special kind
for they are sent from the Creator
to heal your soul and mind,
and to lay upon you
the healing balm of truth,
that teaches you who you are, already,
so that you may fly with His great Spirit
and be free.
